We would love to develop a section for children on this site and will do so when we are confident that we have implemented the security that we feel is important to safeguard children from undesirables when using the Internet.

In the meantime the following may be of interest to children learning French, although naturally we can accept no responsibility for the contents of the websites of others.

Jeannot le Lapin Fou http://perso.wanadoo.fr/jielge/
A series of 22 amusing cartoon-strips describing the adventures of Jeannot le Lapin Fou, as he bounds through life mistaking himself for a cat, drinks too much, gets into a race, goes swimming, and generally acts like a mad rabbit! You can even write to Jeannot and have your entry posted on the site, at last count there were 120 entries.

Aux petites mains http://auxpetitesmains.free.fr/
This site now has nearly 700 free games and activities designed to help children play and learn at the same time. They are structured around age groups. Don’t be afraid to use games for younger children with your pupils as the language content may be more appropriate. It is also good for festivals and includes a forum aimed at parents.

L'Univers de Lulu http://universdelulue.free.fr/index.html
There are lots of activities including colouring sheets, recipes, games and stories. As children learn numbers and months they can register when their birthday is and it will appear on the list of birthday congratulations. Leave time for it to register as they site is updated sporadically.

Kidcity www.kidcity.be
Roland welcomes children to the site which is a cyber town designed specifically for children, with plenty of long-standing activities and new activities signposted so that you can return to the site again and again. Children can enrol as a Kidcien(ne) at l’hôtel de ville and then go the the Casino, the Kids Club or any of the city sites which each have their own activities.

Up to ten www.uptoten.com
There is a languages section offering French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. Children (or teachers!) can send French e-cards to friends and family.

Many thanks to CILT and NACELL for their information sheets and on-line resources.
